Cuba

Cuba Travel Insurance

Travelling to Cuba is a great experience. With its beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, it is a beach lover’s paradise. The towns and cities, while maybe looking a little shabby chic, are still an interesting and exciting visit and the country, as a whole, offers so much to the traveller. There are, however, a couple of possible eventualities to bear in mind when visiting Cuba.

Cuba offers an excellent healthcare system, but it is necessary for visitors to take out the correct medical travel insurance to cover all eventualities, otherwise, entry to the country is not permitted. Vaccinations against Typhoid, Hepatitis A and Diphtheria are highly recommended.

Travel Insurance for Cuba Holidays

While Cuba is a relatively safe destination, petty thefts can happen, including occasional theft from luggage while passing through the airport and of course, loss of cameras and mobile equipment, while travelling around.  Adequate cover for these eventualities is recommended, although check your household insurance, as you might find you are already covered for loss of baggage and property through that policy.

If travelling to Cuba between July and November, it is recommended that you take out hurricane insurance. This might sound drastic, but during that period hurricanes can happen and having the right cover will allow you to cancel your trip, or return home early, without any financial loss.

Make sure you don’t lose out on your hard-earned cash and ensure you have adequate cover to thoroughly enjoy your visit to Cuba.
