Our Policies for Sports & Adventure Travellers

We offer a range of policies for people travelling overseas, requiring cover for specific sports and activities. These are Navigator SILVER, PEARL, GOLD & DIAMOND, the HIGH RISK VOYAGER and the ADVENTURES policy. Cover can be short or long term for single trips or Annual Multi Trip if frequent short trips are undertaken in a year. These three policies can cover most sports and activities, though supplements may be payable for the more hazardous pursuits.

Sports and adventure travellers are often the high-risk clients for travel insurance companies as they are the ones jumping out of aircraft, skiing down mountains or swimming deep underwater. Obviously, the price for a travel insurance policy that covers these kinds of high-risk activities is much higher than one for people going on beach holidays. However, at Navigator, we want to make travel insurance affordable and feasible for as many kinds of travellers as possible, even those with a taste for adventure.

The first thing you need to establish is how long your trip will be and if you plan on going on multiple trips in a year. Choose from our three main policies:

Once you have worked out the duration and amount of trips you plan on going on you can start looking into the details of which activities you will be taking part in. Our Short Stay and Annual Multi Trip policies range from Leisure level to Action Plus and cover a varying amount of extreme sports and adventure activities. If you’ll be taking part in American Football, Canyoning or Martial Arts training on an extended trip, then you’ll need to get the ADVENTURES policy. However, if you’ll only be involved in a single bungee jump, jet skiing or safari then any of our policies will suffice. We offer SILVER and GOLD policies for short stays or Annual Multi-Trip variants too, which will encompass the activities in the middle like White Water Rafting on higher-graded rivers and Scuba Diving between 30 and 40 metres, so you can choose an activity level that suits your plans, either Leisure, Action or Action Plus. If you change your mind later, it should be possible to upgrade to a higher category. SILVER and GOLD Long Stay policies only cover Leisure activities as standard. If you need cover for Action or Action Plus sports on a Long Stay policy, you will need to select an ADVENTURES policy. This policy will cover most sports and activities.

IMPORTANT. There is a clause under the Baggage/Personal Possessions section, stating that there is no cover for sports clothes and equipment whilst in use.

Whatever cover you decide on we are here to help and answer your queries. If you need more assistance on which sport or adventure policy is right for you then contact is via email or on 0161 973 6435.
